Faith Seeds serves families living in Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala. Families live in remote, rural areas near the garbage dump, or basurero. Given the lack of economic opportunity, many families work in the garbage dump scavenging for recyclables. Families earn less than $5 a day, which is not enough to support the basic needs of the family let alone the extra costs of education. Faith Seeds has worked to establish strong community relationships to earn the trust of the families living here. Through these relationships, Faith Seeds has been able to get children out of the dump and dream for a better life, a better future. We serve several communities in Xela and work with over 25 local schools.
